Salary: 100-120K plus 10% annual bonus

Position Overview:

The Materials Manager serves as a critical link between leadership, sales, marketing, finance, and operations to drive exceptional customer service and meet or exceed Company objectives. This role leads the Materials department and oversees all aspects of supply chain operations, including production support, demand forecasting, materials planning, procurement, inventory control, logistics, supplier management, and receiving.

A key focus of this role is to ensure accurate demand forecasting and inventory planning aligned with customer needs and financial targets. The Materials Manager also supports operational efficiency by identifying and eliminating waste across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing materials management team through coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to ensure customer demand is met with high service levels.
  • Oversee supply chain operations to ensure timely customer deliveries and minimize past-due orders.
  • Align supply and demand to optimize inventory levels and working capital.
  • Create and execute inventory strategies that balance cost and service.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce inventory and support corporate goals.
  • Build strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, timely delivery, and consistent supply.
  • Implement Lean principles to streamline materials management and eliminate waste.
  • Develop policies to manage demand variability and integrate it into planning processes.
  • Partner with sales, marketing, and quality teams to support new business and improve internal processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Industrial Management preferred; or 25+ years of relevant experience in production planning, purchasing, or inventory management.
  • Minimum 7 years in a manufacturing leadership role.
  • Proven leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and proficiency with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Experience in forecasting and demand planning.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • CPIM and/or CPSM certification is a plus.
